UK Softball Concludes FAU Invintational 13-2

The UK softball team are is 13-2 on the season after the FAU Invintational this weekend. The Cats continued the best start in program history on Friday, defeating Penn State 5-0, and FAU 7-1. Saturday the Cats failed to obtain a victory in their doubleheader, falling to Kent State 3-0 and No. 5/7 Michigan 3-0. The losses on Saturday ended the best start in program history at 12-0. The 12 game winning streak also surpassed the previous school record of eight consecutive wins. Sunday, Kentucky defeated Penn State for the second time, 8-1, concluding play in Florida.
The Cats will return home for the rest of the week and will host a three-day tournament at John Cropp Stadium, starting Friday against EKU at 3:00pm. Round-robin play will continue Saturday morning, and will conclude with seeded play Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
