UK Softball Defeats Ohio in NCAA Lexington Regional

untitled (17) Kentucky started ace pitcher Kelsey Nunley in the NCAA Regional at John Cropp Stadium this evening where they defeated Ohio 2-0. The Cats will move on to play James Madison University tomorrow afternoon at 1:00pm, who defeated DePaul today, 6-1. Lauren Cumbess gave the Cats an early lead after hitting a solo homerun in the second inning, which accounts for her third homerun in NCAA Tournament play. Kentucky added another run to the board in the bottom of the sixth inning after a leadoff double by Emily Gaines scored on a sacrifice fly by Lauren Cumbess. The Cats held Ohio scoreless to claim the victory 2-0. The first pitch against James Madison University at John Cropp Stadium is set for tomorrow at 1:00pm.
