Vince Marrow is more than just a tight ends coach. Mark Stoops’ right-hand man also serves as Kentucky’s associate head coach, recruiting coordinator, and NFL liaison. To fans, Marrow is as synonymous with Kentucky Football as Stoops, which is why it’s not entirely surprising to find out that he’s one of the highest-paid tight ends coaches in the country. The second highest-paid, in fact.

Football Scoop’s Zach Barnett shared a list of the highest-paid TE coaches in college football this season. The Big Dog is No. 2 at $1.2 million behind LSU’s Mike Denbrock, who also serves as the Tigers’ offensive coordinator and makes $1.4 million annually. Texas’ Jeff Banks, also the program’s special teams coordinator, is the only other tight ends coach that makes more than a million, at $1.1 million per year.

The top ten includes only one other SEC school, defending national champions Georgia:

1. Mike Denbrock*, LSU — $1.4 million
2. Vince Marrow, Kentucky — $1.2 million
3. Jeff Banks, Texas^ — $1.1 million
4. James Coley, Texas A&M — $950,000
5. Robert Anae, NC State* — $850,000
5. Todd Hartley, Georgia — $850,000
5. Des Kitchings, Virginia* — $850,000
8. Buster Faulkner, Georgia Tech* — $750,000
9. Ted Gilmore, Michigan State — $550,000
10. Joe Jon Finley, Oklahoma — $520,000

Marrow is one of three assistants on Kentucky’s staff to earn more than a million annually. Offensive coordinator Liam Coen makes $1.7 million and defensive coordinator Brad White $1.5 million. In total, Kentucky’s ten full-time assistants will make $7.765 million for the 2023 season. Mark Stoops signed a contract extension last November that will boost his base annual salary to $8.6 million plus incentives.
