“Extremely excited as we get closer and closer to the season,” Brooks said in his opening statement. “It’s been a long preseason, but it’s been fun getting to know this group of young women. Their ability to come together, work hard — I think it’s going to be a very exciting year just because of their capabilities. So, we watch a lot kids grow up right in front of our faces, just seeing how they’re maturing. Obviously, you put together a group of young people, and it’s always going to be difficult. I think fans, media, administrations, coaches, everyone has to understand it’s always going to be a process when you bring a lot of people together.”
