After a really fun first year for Kenny Brooks at Kentucky, it’s time to gear up for year two as the season opener against Morehead State is just now six days away.

Brooks and the team were available to the media on Tuesday, just sort of speaking on how practice has gone and what they’re looking forward to this year. The Kentucky head coach is excited to see this team grow through the course of this season.

“Extremely excited as we get closer and closer to the season,” Brooks said in his opening statement. “It’s been a long preseason, but it’s been fun getting to know this group of young women. Their ability to come together, work hard — I think it’s going to be a very exciting year just because of their capabilities. So, we watch a lot kids grow up right in front of our faces, just seeing how they’re maturing. Obviously, you put together a group of young people, and it’s always going to be difficult. I think fans, media, administrations, coaches, everyone has to understand it’s always going to be a process when you bring a lot of people together.”
