Kentucky women’s basketball got its biggest win of the season on Wednesday as the Cats beat USC Upstate 90-30 in Historic Memorial Coliseum. Kenny Brooks, Tonie Morgan and Clara Strack each spoke to the media following the game.

Of course, KSR got in a Rapid Reaction to the 60-point dub as well after the press conference.

During the press conference, Brooks talked about how Kentucky just looked more amped up out on the court — something that they had been working on early in the season.

“I thought we had better energy tonight,” Brooks said in his opening statement. “That’s something we’ve been searching for and trying to be consistent with that. You’re going to hit those walls when you have a new — essentially — a new team that you’re trying to get integrated with each other. So, that’s something that we were searching for.”

That energy translated into a great effort defensively. Holding any team to 30 points is impressive, even if it is USC Upstate. That’s something to be proud of.

“I thought we were better at that tonight, and throughout games like this, we consider it the process, and you get an opportunity to get better, and whether it’s communication or guarding a play the way you’re supposed to guard it, the little things are the things we’ve been looking for to improve upon, and I thought we got a little bit better tonight.
