WATCH: Calipari, Wheeler and Ware at SEC Basketball Media Day
KSR sent Jack Pilgrim and Zack Geoghegan down to Birmingham today for conversations with John Calipari and two of his players, Sahvir Wheeler and Lance Ware, at SEC Basketball Media Day 2022.
Calipari was up first with a long Q&A in front of the bright lights of the Grand Bohemian Hotel’s main stage. For over twenty minutes, Kentucky’s head coach talked about his team’s injury report ahead of the Blue-White scrimmage, future scheduling, NIL issues, and other matters around the Southeastern Conference.
When Calipari finished, Wheeler and Ware welcomed a smaller crowd for player interviews. Wheeler spoke of the team’s expectations, his own improvements, some of his opponents around the league, and more.
A last minute-addition, Ware previewed his third season in Lexington.
