On Wednesday, KSR was let in the door of the Joe Craft Football Training Facility to speak with offensive coordinator Rich Scangarello, defensive coordinator Brad White, linebacker DeAndre Square, and center Eli Cox. The Cats are riding high from a big win over Mississippi State and are ready to take a swing at No. 3 Tennessee.

Scangarello started the party by discussing how the Kentucky offense took advantage of Mississippi State’s 3-3-5 stack by playing with big personnel and mixing up schemes in the run game to lead to success. Meanwhile, the play-caller is feeling confident about the recruiting operation in Lexington.

White talked about the complete effort from the defense against Mississippi State before turning attention to Tennessee. The defensive play-caller stressed the importance of tackling against Josh Heupel’s offense as the Cats will find themselves in numerous one-on-one situations with the Vols next week at Neyland Stadium.

DeAndre Square discussed just how different Tennessee’s tempo is compared to Ole Miss and how excited the team is for the challenge of playing a top-five team on the road in a rivalry game. Eli Cox talked about Kentucky’s rushing success and how the rest of the offensive line got a kick out of Tashawn Manning‘s flop.
