On a day where commercials reign supreme, the Big Blue Nation will all have its eyes peeled for one ad in particular.

During Sunday night’s Super Bowl LVI between the Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals, a commercial from KY Wildcats TV previewing the upcoming 2022 Kentucky Football season will air across the area. It’s been an annual tradition for the program ever since head coach Mark Stoops arrived ahead of the 2013 season, being used as a way to hype up the team and what’s to come in the fall.

Over the years, a few of the commercials have become the stuff of lore. From the “Why Not?” movement in the early years to “replacing legends with new ones” as of late, these previews are an entertaining sneak peek of what the team’s motto and identity will be moving forward. I’ll be eagerly awaiting the 2022 edition, where the program is in the best shape it’s arguably ever been.

But while we’re waiting, why don’t we reminisce on Super Bowl commercials of yesteryear…

2021 – For The Team

Nobody said it would be easy…

2020 – Why Not Now?

THIS, is how you build a program…

2019 – Bring It

How do you replace legends? You become one…

2018 – Get Up

To be special, truly special, it takes all of us — all the time…

2017 – Let’s Go To Work

There’s no easy path. No open doors. No shortcuts…

2016 – Finish What We Started

How do we repay you? We keep fighting and finish what we started…

2015 – Are You With Me?

Yes sir!

2014 – Why Not?

It can get done here… It will get done here…

2013 – The Intro

I’m highly motivated to build this program to national prominence…

This one gave me chills… Nine years later and Mark Stoops hasn’t backed off his word of taking this program to heights never before seen. I vividly remember watching this commercial when it aired, but not even in my wildest dreams did I picture two Citrus Bowl victories over a four-year span.

What will UK have in store for 2022?
