Kentucky Football had No. 21 Texas on the ropes, but couldn’t land the final blow to put the Longhorns away. It was Texas that scored the game’s final points, breaking a 13-13 tie with a game-winning field goal in the first overtime period. Kentucky outgained Texas, looked like the better team in defeat, and had an opportunity to take its first lead with two tries from the goal line in OT. Still, the Wildcats came up short in the end, losing 16-13.

After the loss, KSR’s Drew Franklin, Nick Roush, and Adam Luckett broke down the narrow loss and all of the excitement throughout. The takeaways include, but are not limited to:

  • Cutter Boley’s big game
  • A low-scoring affair, like Luckett predicted
  • Arch Manning is not good
  • A costly false start
  • Special teams
  • Stuffed in OT
  • Finding hope with a 0-4 SEC record
  • What’s next for the Wildcats
