LCA overcomes 13-0 halftime deficit to beat Lexington Catholic in Holy War | KSR Game of the Week

The KSR Game of the Week has not disappointed so far in 2025, and Friday’s edition was no different.

In the annual Holy War, the No. 23 Lexington Christian Academy Eagles (2-3) overcame a 13-0 halftime deficit to take down its crosstown rival, the No. 22 Lexington Catholic Knights, by a final score of 28-21. Sophomore QB Nash Whelan, who was LCA’s backup to begin the season, was the star of the night. He ran for three touchdowns before fueling the Eagles’ final drive in the closing minute, which he capped off by tossing a 22-yard touchdown to Tyler King for the go-ahead score with just a few seconds left in regulation. LCA students rushed the field afterward in what was a high-intensity atmosphere from start to finish.

We’ve been treated to several close finishes in the KSR Games of the Week this season, but this win by LCA might have been the best one yet. KSR videographer Sterling Hohman was roaming the sidelines all night long to bring you another must-watch recap video. Dive in below to see how Whelan led his team to victory.
