WATCH: Mark Pope provides injury updates, previews Valparaiso

With under 36 hours until the second official game of the 2025-26 Kentucky men’s basketball season, head coach Mark Pope sat down with reporters to talk some hoops.
Pope had plenty to say during his 23-minute interview with local media. For starters, he revealed a handful of injury updates concerning the likes of Jaland Lowe, Trent Noah, and Jayden Quaintance, notably stating that he expects Lowe to make his season debut on Friday when Kentucky hosts Valparaiso. Pope also touched on the redshirt status of Reece Potter and Braydon Hawthorne, what he expects out of Valpo, Collin Chandler‘s play in the season-opener against Nicholls, and much more.
