Justin Edwards and Imhotep (PA) came out on top of Reed Sheppard and North Laurel (KY), but the real winners are everyone involved with Kentucky men’s basketball.
Edwards and Sheppard, a pair of highly-ranked 2023 recruits committed to Kentucky, put on a show in Louisville on Sunday night. To cap off the 2022 Kentucky Play-By-Play Classic, the future Wildcats were pitted against each other, providing the Big Blue Nation with a glimpse of what’s to come next season.

Both prospects were named the Most Valuable Player for their respective teams as Imhotep came away with the 59-54 victory. Edwards posted 15 points and 12 rebounds while Sheppard contributed 14 points, 11 assists, and seven rebounds on the other end. Kentucky head coach John Calipari and associate coach Orlando Antigua watched from the sidelines from start to finish before chatting with their soon-to-be ‘Cats afterward.
