Rankings update! Come and get your rankings update!!

On Monday afternoon, our good friends over at On3 updated the class of 2024 basketball player rankings. There wasn’t too much of a shakeup near the top of the order, but this update saw the addition of five new faces to the Top 50. This is the fifth update for the 2024 class and the first since January.

Where did Kentucky’s targets land this time around? Let’s find out.

There are several familiar faces among the Top 10. 6-foot-5 shooting guard Tre Johnson out of Dallas, TX is the most notable as he continues to hold down the top spot.

The rising five-star senior is the unanimous No. 1 ranked prospect in the country by all four major recruiting services. Johnson was one of the first ’24 prospects to earn an official offer from the Wildcats, even taking an official visit to Lexington for Big Blue Madness. However, his lead recruiter at UK, KT Turner, is now the head coach at UT-Arlington. Chin Coleman has since taken control of the reins while Baylor and Texas remain heavily in the mix. Johnson recently scored 29 points to help win the Texas 4A state championship for Lake Highlands High School.

Meanwhile, 6-foot-9 center Flory Bidunga checks in at No. 3 overall while 6-foot-3 point guard Boogie Fland lands at No. 6. Both are five-star recruits with official offers from Kentucky and significant interest from the ‘Cats. Head coach John Calipari and associate head coach Orlando Antigua have recently spent time on the recruiting trail to watch both players in action.

Rounding out the Top 10 prospects with UK interest is 6-foot-5 small forward Karter Knox, the younger brother of former ‘Cat Kevin Knox, who checks in at No. 7. Karter also holds an offer from Kentucky, but his family’s connection with Louisville head coach Kenny Payne is going to loom large in this recruitment moving forward.

6-foot-5 shooting guard Ian Jackson, who was once considered a lock to Kentucky before committing to North Carolina in the final moments earlier this year, is ranked No. 5 in the country.

Outside of the Top 10, other Kentucky targets include 6-foot-5 shooting guard Isaiah Elohim (No. 16; 4-star), 6-foot-7 shooting guard Dink Pate (No. 18, 4-star), 6-foot-10 center Somto Cyril (No. 23; 4-star), 7-foot-2 center John Bol (No. 33, 4-star), 6-foot-8 small forward Amier Ali (No. 44, 4-star), and 6-foot-6 shooting guard Billy Richmond (No. 81; 4-star).

As for the local prospects, Lyon County’s 6-foot-1 point guard Travis Perry, who holds an official offer from Kentucky, lands at No. 110 overall in the class as a low four-star. Elsewhere, 6-foot-8 power forward Ayden Evans out of Elizabethtown is a three-star, although he did not crack On3’s Top 150.
