Why Jamal Murray not visiting this weekend isn't a huge deal...yet

Last night, Canadian shooting guard Jamal Murray announced he wasn't making the trip to Lexington this weekend with his EYBL team for the event at KBA. At first glance, this seemed like a crushing blow for UK's chances, especially since Oregon visited him yesterday; however, from what we're hearing, it's not quite the death knell yet. According to Matt, if Murray had come to Lexington this weekend, he couldn't have visited UK because the NCAA stopped allowing AAU/tournament trips from becoming unofficial visits a few years back. Technically, he could have visited campus, but he'd have to do it all on his own and wouldn't be allowed to talk to anyone on the staff. Calipari is reportedly working to get Murray to take an unofficial visit to Kentucky next weekend, so if we hear early next week that's the case, we can all feel better about UK's chances. Last night, Murray's father told CatsPause.com that his son needed to rest before making his decision. Hopefully, he decides to wait and see what Kentucky's all about next weekend.
