SHEPPARD FINAL webBefore 2012, UK’s last NCAA Championship was won in 1998 by the “Comeback Cats” and the MOP of that Final Four, Jeff Sheppard.  To help honor that amazing accomplishment, the popular “Wildcat Legends” Fine Art Series by artist David Bryan Blondell will unveil a new tribute print this Saturday, when Jeff will be on hand to autograph his new art print for fans.

Sheppard’s “Art Release Ceremony” will be be held before the UK-South Carolina game this Saturday, January 21.  The event will be hosted at Your Frame Of Mind Galleries on the first level of the Rupp Arena/Lexington Center mall in the foodcourt, immediately before the game from 4:00 — 5:30 pm (6:00 pm tip-off).  Jeff and the artist will be on hand to autograph this beautiful new print of him for all fans, regardless if they have tickets for the game or not.  Total price of the print will be $35, including both signatures.

The senior captain led his team’s improbable run through the 1998 NCAA tournament, coming back from large deficits in many games, including the Regional Final against Duke and the Championship game versus Utah – thus earning the nickname the “Comeback Cats.”  The athletic and high-jumping 5th-year senior guard was named the Final Four’s “Most Outstanding Player” (MOP) for his thrilling & determined play that led UK to its 7th title.  Sheppard also earned a ring from the 1996 title team, and is one of our most beloved stars.

Jeff now joins the “Wildcat Legends” honorees from previous releases, which are Dan Issel, Mike Pratt, Tony Delk, Kevin Grevey, Jack Givens, Kenny Walker, and Coach Joe B. Hall.

“Wildcat Legends” is a collectible series of Fine Art prints from original, individual player paintings by national sports artist and Kentucky native David Bryan Blondell, honoring living UK stars from the 60’s through the 90’s.  Each star’s individual art print features a compilation of action poses of him during his time in the Big Blue uniform.  Fans may choose to collect any one or all.

Reasonably-priced at $35 signed ($20 unsigned), the 11” x 17” high-quality Limited Edition fine art prints will be numbered and signed by Sheppard; only 500 commemorative prints of him will be produced.
