Wildcats Lose Three-Game Series to Bulldogs

[caption id="attachment_177977" align="aligncenter" width="150"]11029770 Photo by UK Athletics[/caption]   No. 17 Kentucky took on No. 14 Georgia in a three-game series this weekend at John Cropp Stadium. The Cats came in with 5-14 record in SEC play while the Bulldogs hold a 12-9 record. Despite the effort, Kentucky lost all three games to allow Georgia to take home the title. On Friday, the Cats were defeated in a 3-0 sweep. Although the talented team failed to score, three players contributed hits. Sylver Samuel, Nikki Sagermann, and Brooklin Hinz provided the only plays for Kentucky. Defensively, Kelsey Nunley allowed seven hits and three runs. In the second game of the series, the Wildcats played a close 6-4 match. Offensively, Rachael Metzger had one run and Griffin Joiner added a hit and a run. Sagermann contributed a hit, a run, and a RBI, while Maisie Steed provided a run, two hits, and three RBI. Christian Stokes also added two hits. In the final game, Kentucky was defeated 8-4. Stokes and Steed each had one hit and one run while Joiner had two hits, two runs, and four RBI. Sagermann also added two hits. Defensively, Nunley allowed nine hits and eight runs. The Cats will take on Tennessee in a three-game series at Knoxville, Tennessee this weekend.
