Kentucky Football has never produced a Heisman Trophy winner, but the last few weeks of Will Levis buzz sure does make it feel like it could be more attainable this year than most.

The sports betting folks over at Vegas Insider dropped the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner odds on Friday where Levis’ name popped up on the list of roughly 60 college football players. The rising senior quarterback currently has +8000 odds to bring the Heisman to Lexington, which is among the top half of the list.

Alabama QB Bryce Young is the favorite to repeat as the winner (+200) with Ohio State QB C.J Stroud coming in a close second (+350). USC QB Caleb Williams closes out the top three with +1000 odds. Three other players are tied with Levis’ +8000 odds: Tennessee QB Hendon Hooker, Boston College QB Phil Jurkovec, and Auburn RB Tank Bigsby.

Other names of note with odds to win the Heisman include South Carolina QB Spencer Rattler (+4000), Florida QB Anthony Richardson (+5000), Louisville QB Malik Cunningham (+6000), and Mississippi State QB Will Rogers (+9000)

Levis has been a bit of a draft analyst darling as of late, ever since scouts were diving through SEC tape to identify future draft picks and stumbled upon Levis chewing up those defenses. He’s now heralded as a future first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, possibly as the top overall selection. This is the same guy that some SEC media heads were saying might not even be a top-six quarterback in his own conference just a month or so ago.

During his first season at Kentucky in 2021, Levis led the Wildcats to another 10-win season and Citrus Bowl victory. He started all 13 games for UK, totaling over 3,000 yards of combined offense while throwing for the most touchdown passes (24) in a single season since Andre Woodson back in 2007. Levis also ran for additional 376 yards and a team-high tying nine rushing scores.

We need a catchy “Levis-for-Heisman” phrase ASAP.
