We are only 17 days away from the 2023 NFL Draft. The final prep phase is upon us. Franchises are wrapping up Top 30 visits this week, which means Will Levis is back on the road.

The NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports Levis will travel to Nashville tomorrow to meet in-person with the Tennessee Titans. New general manager Ran Carthon is preparing for life after Ryan Tannehill and may be eager enough to trade up from No. 11 overall to snag the former Kentucky quarterback.

Last Thursday the Indianapolis Colts were in Lexington to watch Levis train in-person. They hold the No. 4 overall pick. Experts are split on who the Colts will choose, Levis or Anthony Richardson.

The NFL Draft Beast is Here

In each NFL Draft cycle, one of the last rites of passage is the completion of “The Beast.” The Athletic’s Dane Brugler creates the most comprehensive NFL Draft guide on the market. He doesn’t just detail the top prospects. The Beast contains information on dozens and dozens and dozens of players who will not get drafted.

This year’s edition of “The Beast” is 307 pages long. The guy does his homework. He currently ranks Levis as QB4 and the No. 14 overall player in the 2023 NFL Draft Class. His summary of the former Kentucky quarterback:

“A two-year starter at Kentucky, Levis had a promising 2021 season in offensive coordinator Liam Coen’s scheme (31.8 points per game, 10 wins). However, he struggled with consistency in 2022, as the offense saw a complete makeover with Wan’Dale Robinson and multiple offensive linemen departing to the NFL and new play-caller Rich Scangarello taking over for Coen, who left to become the Los Angeles Rams’ offensive coordinator. Physically built for the pro game, Levis is strong in the pocket, moves very well for his size and has a power arm to deliver with velocity and accuracy from various platforms. However, defenses are too easily able to put doubt in his mind, which leads to forced or inaccurate throws because of hesitancy in his game.

“Overall, Levis needs more reps to continue developing his read efficiency and ball placement, but he has an NFL starter’s skill set with his impressive physical tools (size, arm, athleticism) and exceptional competitive toughness. Similarities with Carson Wentz should be considered both a positive and negative, but he has starter-level traits and upside.

Projections for all of the Former Wildcats

It’s difficult to discern where some other Wildcats may fall in later rounds. Brugler’s intel gives us a better idea of when we may hear from the rest of the UK’s 2023 Draft Class.
