Woo Spencer Locks In Official Visit to Kentucky
One of the most talented trench players in the region will soon be taking his talents to Lexington. After he refrained from pledging his allegiance to a school during December’s Early Signing Period, KSR has learned William “Woo” Spencer will officially visit the University of Kentucky this weekend.
Spencer is a three-star prospect in the 2023 recruiting class. A 6-foot-5, 315-pound interior offensive lineman, he’s the 36th-ranked player at his position and the No. 6 player from the state of Indiana, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Woo Spencer started his prep career at Louisville Male High School, then moved across the river and transferred to New Albany for his final high school season. Another athlete from Aspirations Gym, Vince Marrow has been heavily involved in the recruitment of Spencer for a couple of years. Those efforts could be disrupted down the homestretch.

Virginia Tech has been involved, but Louisville is the Wildcats’ biggest threat. Following this weekend’s official visit to Lexington, he will take an official visit to UofL, reports Steve Wiltfong. Jeff Brohm’s new staff will get the final visit before a commitment on Feb. 1’s National Signing Day, potentially giving the Cards an upper hand.
Kentucky currently has three offensive linemen signed in the 2023 recruiting class. Marrow and Mark Stoops would certainly be happy to add one more into the fold on National Signing Day, especially in a head-to-head recruiting battle with Louisville.
