"You know what to do, Mitch!" UK fan lets Mitch Barnhart hear it after the blowout
Mitch Barnhart can hide from criticism in Lexington, but first, he had to walk out of a 41-0 shutout in the final game of the regular season, a rivalry game no less. As Kentucky’s players, coaches, and staff made their way toward the tunnel of Louisville’s L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium, the UK athletic director tagged along, heading off the field after one of the worst football losses of his tenure. And that’s saying something.
One Kentucky fan who made the trip into enemy territory did not miss the opportunity to express his disappointment.
As Barnhart passed below him, the fan leaned over the railing and let Barnhart hear it, pleading for a change as the AD walked underneath.
“You know what to do, Mitch! You know what to do!”

Many others in Big Blue Nation feel the same frustration that you hear in the clip. Kentucky fans have spent most of the season voicing concerns about the direction of the program, the on-field product, and the buyout issue that makes change difficult. Saturday turned up the noise, even penetrating Barnhart’s tiny insulated circle.
What happened on the walk out of Louisville’s stadium was only one voice, but it captured where the fanbase stands tonight. The calls for answers are growing louder, and Barnhart can’t avoid the criticism any longer.
