Yusuf Corker made big splash at Kentucky Pro Day
Kentucky is set to have a big weekend at the NFL Draft in a few short weeks. Luke Fortner, Josh Paschal, and Wan’Dale Robinson all feel like safe bets to be picks on day two. However, Yusuf Corker is also making noise in the pre-draft process.
After skipping out on most of the workouts at the NFL Scouting Combine, Corker participated in most drills at the Kentucky Pro Day on Friday. The redshirt senior safety put on a show for the scouts in attendance.
Measuring in at 6-foot and 199 pounds, the McDonough (Ga.) Woodland product is a bit undersized, but the testing data helps eliminate some of those worries. The 4.53 forty-yard dash gives Yusuf Corker a good speed score and the strong broad jump score proves this is a prospect with explosiveness. Corker’s 23 reps on the bench press at the combine solidifies that Corker has some solid strength and that shows when he’s able to square up in run fits.

There is no true weak link for the safety in the pre-draft tests.
These results will now only enhance the value of Corker’s tape. The three-year starter played over 700 snaps in each of the last two seasons and has had 70-plus tackles in three consecutive seasons. There is a lack of ball production — only three career interceptions on high volume snap count — but Corker can be a productive run support safety who possesses great instincts, football intelligence, and strong special teams value.
Day two will be a busy day at the draft for Kentucky, but Corker just made some big strides to help him lock up a draft pick on day three. Look for the defensive back to hear his name called on the third day somewhere between rounds five and six.
Kentucky’s recruit and develop plan is playing out and providing real results every season.
