Sophomore forward Zennia Thomas has been suspended indefinitely from the Kentucky Women’s Basketball team, UK Athletics announced on Thursday, Nov. 30, just minutes before tipoff of the Wildcats’ SEC/ACC Challenge against Boston College.

“Zennia Thomas will not be available for the Kentucky-Boston College game. The sophomore forward is suspended indefinitely for a disciplinary matter that is being handled internally,” UK Athletics stated. It is unclear what the disciplinary matter is or how long Thomas will be unavailable for.

The sophomore currently averages 2.0 points and 1.7 rebounds per game, with a season-high of 10 points against USC Upstate on Nov. 11. In Kentucky’s last game against Cincinnati, Thomas scored one point in 16 minutes. The forward added on three rebounds and a steal but committed three turnovers and four fouls. Although not a detrimental loss for Kentucky, Thomas’s suspension could be problematic for the program, dwindling their active roster down to only 10 players.

Additionally, Kentucky will also be without sophomore guard Amiya Jenkins on Thursday, as she is dealing with a shoulder injury. Jenkins has started all seven games for the Wildcats so far this season, averaging 8.6 points and 4.3 rebounds per game while shooting 41.5 percent from the field.
