BREAKING: 5-star WR Jalen Brown commits to LSU

2023 Miami (Fla.) Gulliver Prep wide receiver Jalen Brown committed to LSU on Friday, the first five-star commit of the class for the Tigers.

Brown ranks as the No. 18 overall prospect and No. 3 wide receiver in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

LSU beat out Miami in a highly contested recruiting battle, along with Georgia, Florida State and others for Brown’s commitment. He took a visit to LSU back in June, which seemed to leave a great impression on Brown. Miami seemed to be in the lead for Brown for a while, but LSU was able to keep its great momentum going and make a push for him.

One of the most explosive players in the country, Brown is one of the best deep threat receivers in the 2023 class. At 6-1, 160 pounds, he is not the biggest receiver, but his speed is what makes him elite. Brown was a regional champion in track running a time of 10.86 seconds in the 100-meter dash and 21.83 in the 200-meter dash. He is the second wide receiver commit in the 2023 class for LSU and the first five-star commitment.
