LSU has landed its fifth commitment for the 2025 class, as Meghan Yarnevich will sign with the Tigers this summer, sources tell The Bengal Tiger. Yarnevich was previously signed with Georgia as a 6-foot-2 forward playing in Maryland at The Bullis School, but now, Mulkey has added another forward to her roster for next year.

In September of 2024, Yarnevich originally chose Georgia over Cal, Georgetown, Pittsburgh, St. Johnson, and Georgia Tech, but now will stay in the SEC with the move to LSU.

It was a quick process to get this done. On May 4, Yarnevich announced her decommitment from Georgia, re-opening her recruitment. Then, LSU quickly jumped into the mix, looking to round out its roster and the interest was reciprocated, accelerating the timeline. Now, the Tigers have another young talent Mulkey can refine in the coming years, joining a formidable frontcourt already with young talent like Kate Koval and Grace Knox.

“I’m excited to be playing SEC ball — playing at home games,” Yarnevich said after committing to Georgia. “I’m going to be working really hard to hopefully play. It’s just everything.”

This is what Georgia wrote about Yarnevich when she signed:

“A four-star, top-100 prospect according to Prospects Nation, Meghan Yarnevich comes to Georgia from Bullis High School in Potomac, Maryland. She has led her high school team to two state semifinals appearances and a state championship over the last three seasons. The versatile frontcourt prospect known for her size and soft touch around the basket was a highly-recruited prospect coming out of high school. Yanrevich is also a member of Fairfax Star U17 team.”

She joins the No. 1 class in the country coming to Baton Rouge, with four top-30 players in the country in ZaKiyah Johnson, Grace Knox, Divine Bourrage, and Bella Hines. LSU has embraced this freshman class as being immediately able to impact winning and now they add even more depth to that core.

“Divine can play the point, can play the off guard,” Mulkey said back in November about the class. “We signed big Z [ZaKiyah] from Kentucky, a big guard who can post you up and rebound. Then you add Grace to the mix and she’s more of a Morrow type as a hard-nosed player. It’s hard to keep her off the boards. Then you add Bella who can shoot the three ball and comes from a winning program over the summer. They won just about everything with Cy Fair. We’re excited about those guys. Three out of four came on an official visit together and we got all three of them.”
