BREAKING: Kayshon Boutte leaving LSU for 2023 NFL Draft

LSU wide receiver Kayshon Boutte will forgo his college eligibility and enter the 2023 NFL Draft, he confirmed with On3 on Wednesday evening via a direct message. He tweeted the news shortly before that.
LSU announced earlier in the day that Boutte was unavailable for the bowl game and would not play when the Tigers face Purdue on Monday in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl, head coach Brian Kelly announced in a release.
Kelly said in the release Boutte is enrolled at LSU for the spring semester. Boutte announced he is returning to Baton Rouge for his senior season earlier this month, but instead will try his hand at the professional ranks.
“After careful thoughts and consideration, I will be declaring for the 2023 NFL DRAFT,” Boutte said on Twitter.

Through turmoil and turnover for LSU, Boutte still shined bright, amassing 38 catches for 509 receiving yards and nine touchdowns his sophomore season. He rose to become one of the most feared pass catchers in the nation, and someone the defense would be forced to spotlight throughout a game.
That set high expectations for Kayshon Boutte entering his junior season at LSU in 2022, as he was considered one of the top wide receiver prospects in the 2023 NFL Draft. He did not disappoint, recording 48 catches for 538 yards and two touchdowns as the Tigers won the SEC West.
Before this turn of events,
“I believe in this team, coaches, strength staff, nutrition staff and training staff,” Boutte said at the time. “It is important to follow your dreams and live with the results. While some stories will end here, mine will not…. Let’s lock in and focus on the main goal of any LSU Tiger: Winning a National Championship!!!”
