LSU No. 6 overall seed in NCAA Tournament, full region reveal

After another strong season under Jay Johnson, LSU is ranked as the No. 6 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, meaning the Tigers will host a regional first, then if they advance, they will host a super regional as well for a place in the College World Series.
The full field of the Baton Rouge regional was announced on Monday with LSU, Little Rock (24-32), Rhode Island (38-20), and Dallas Baptist (40-16). Ultimately, with the Tigers’ success at home and two high-level pitchers, LSU will be the favorites to come out of the region, but nothing is for certain as LSU’s bats hope to wake up in the postseason and push them to Omaha once again.
LSU faced Dallas Baptist earlier this season in Arlington and left with a 7-3 win and now the Tigers get a rematch against the perennial tournament program. LSU was paired with the 11-seed Clemson regional which could have Clemson coming to Baton Rouge if both teams advance to the Super Regional.
Baton Rouge will be one of 16 host sites later this week as the 2025 NCAA Baseball Tournament opens with regional play. LSU is one of eight SEC programs announced Sunday among this year’s regional hosts, tying the all-time record for most by a single conference.
Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas and Vanderbilt join the Tigers in that distinction.

Clemson, Coastal Carolina, Florida State, North Carolina, Oregon, Oregon State, Southern Miss and UCLA will host the other eight regionals.
This marks LSU’s second home regional in the past three years — along with its national-championship run in 2023 — after traveling to North Carolina in 2024.
The Tigers have hosted 28 regionals all-time and have advanced through their last five home regionals. Jay Johnson looks for another successful postseason run in the NCAA Tournament beginning this weekend.
