Brian Kelly talks 2024 recruiting class

LSU offensive lineman Charles Turner accepted his invitation to the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., signaling a likely departure to the NFL. The Canton, Ohio native could’ve returned for his final year of college eligibility.

The 6-4, 300-pounder started 25 games over his 38 games played so far. The last two years, he’s been LSU’s starting center. In 2020 and 2021, he started a game in each season.

Turner led the offensive line this season to its best since the 2019 LSU National Championship Team, which Turner was a true freshman for. He originally signed with the Tigers out of IMG Academy and came in as a blocking tight end before bulking up.

According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Turner ranked as the No. 462 overall prospect in the country and No. 29 interior offensive lineman in the nation.

LSU has its center of the future in DJ Chester on the roster and once again has a highly-touted signing class coming in for Brad Davis in 2024.

The 2024 Reese’s Senior Bowl will kick off Saturday, Feb. 3, at Hancock Whitney Stadium in Mobile. To see this year’s full list of accepted invites for the upcoming game, CLICK HERE.
