LSU QB commit Colin Hurley selected for U.S. Army Bowl
2024 Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian Academy four-star quarterback Colin Hurley is already committed to LSU. Now, he was selected to compete in the U.S. Army Bowl, he announced Saturday on Twitter.
Hurley joins a long list of high-profile prospects to play in the game, which is played in Frisco, Texas each year.
For head coach Brian Kelly, quarterbacks coach Joe Sloan and offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock, the time spent recruiting Hurley didn’t go unnoticed. That’s in part why he chose to commit early to the Tigers.
“With every visit to LSU, I’ve come away feeling a greater sense of connection to the school, football program, staff and community. It’s been a refreshing experience and I have to say, when you hear about, ‘the process’ and ‘building relationships’ and ‘go where you are needed and wanted’ — that typifies what I have with LSU and what LSU has with me,” Hurley told On3.
“Since the first visit, LSU and the staff — Coach Kelly, Coach Denbrock and Coach Sloan have all made it clear where I am on their board. They’ve evaluated, graded and vetted me very carefully, against all of the top prospects.”

Colin Hurley brings polished game to LSU
Verlon Dorminey, a nine-time state championship winning head coach at Trinity Christian Academy, has been coaching Hurley since he joined the team.
“Bright future. In thirty-two years as a head coach, and nearly forty years in coaching, he’s one of the most special guys I’ve seen at the position,” Scott told On3. “The kid plays the hardest position in all of sports, plays it at a very high level, and he’s been playing varsity football since the eighth grade. He’s special. I don’t just mean the stuff you see on the field, with the remarkable throws and ability to make plays; moreover, he does all of the other things you want, and need, in your quarterback.”
“Colin is a leader, he is loyal and supportive to his teammates and our staff here at Trinity. He works hard, watches film, is respected by everyone in the building, does all of the extra things it takes to be great.
Colin Hurley ranks as the No. 10 quarterback and No. 122 overall player in the On3 Consensus for the 2024 class.
