LSU-Tennessee kickoff time, TV coverage on ESPN announced

LSU will kick off at 11 a.m. CT on ESPN when it hosts Tennessee inside Tiger Stadium on Oct. 8, the SEC announced on Monday. The Tigers sit at 3-1 and Volunteers sit at 4-0 heading into Week 5 with LSU at Auburn and Tennessee on a bye.
LSU’s coming off a 38-0 win over New Mexico on Saturday while Tennessee upended Florida in Knoxville, 38-33.
On Saturday, LSU stifled the visitors, holding the Lobos to 88 total yards and just two first downs as Matt House’s defense impressed. LSU also rolled up 633 total yards of offense, averaging 7.91 yards per play. Quarterbacks Jayden Daniels and Garrett Nussmeier combined to complete 85 percent of their combined 39 passes.
Auburn will host LSU this weekend after a 17-14 overtime win over Missouri. Auburn’s offense mustered just 3.3 yards per play, the school’s fewest in a win since the 2006 season when the Tigers beat Nebraska in the Cotton Bowl.
LSU nursing some injuries on defense entering Auburn week
Against New Mexico, LSU held out star defender BJ Ojulari, who is dealing with a knee injury. The injury was sustained against Florida State in the season opener. Kelly’s staff is trying to work him back to 100 percent and is hopeful he’ll play against Auburn.

“It’s the patella,” Kelly said after the game. “We work out on Saturdays, and when we went through our workouts it was just cranky. There was no sense — especially in the position he had. He was not gonna get a ton of work where he had him in the Jack position. He had QB and as you saw, the ball was going out on the perimeter over there to run a dive. So we just thought it was best that we rest him and get him 100%.”
Safety Major Burns is also out with a neck injury. Kelly estimates that Burns could be out between 3-6 weeks as he recovers from his injury. Team doctors have cleared the Tigers’ safety to play, but the coaching staff feels it is best for him to rest in order to prevent further injury.
LSU already lost defensive tackle Maason Smith for the season to a knee injury. Another starter at safety, Jay Ward, was nicked up in the Mississippi State game and was held out against New Mexico. Arkansas transfer safety Joe Foucha will make his debut for the Tigers this week.
