LSU WBB's newest stars move in over weekend

The newest Tigers moved in on LSU’s campus over the weekend, bringing new excitement to Kim Mulkey’s program as the group is ready to get to work and get settled in. The freshman duo of Grace Knox and Bella Hines both got moved in, while two high-level transfers Amiya Joyner and Kate Koval also made their way to Baton Rouge.
LSU ended the 2025 cycle with the No. 1 class in the country out of high school with Knox and Hines paired with ZaKiyah Johson and Divine Bourrage who will move in later this summer along with the rest of the team.
Mikaylah Williams, Flau’Jae Johnson, Kate Koval, MiLaysia Fulwiley, among others all could potentially be playing in various competitions for their country and will join the program in late July along with the rest of the roster.
Amiya Joyner on committing to LSU…
“It was a lot, but I’m blessed,” Joyner said. “I love the fans already and I can’t wait to get there and do what I gotta do. The coaches were important to me, so a lot of the process was getting to know them. I wanted to be in a new environment, play on a bigger stage, and I want to be pushed in practice even harder.”
“I’ve been watching LSU for years now. I’ve been watching Flau’Jae and Mikaylah and I’m excited to play with them. They’re buckets… I’m ready to show people what I can do. I can pass, knock down the jumper, handle the rock, and do whatever coach needs me to do. I’m very versatile. I Aneesah Morrow was doing all that for them too, so I think I’m going to fit in well at LSU.”

Bella Hines on committing to LSU…
“I chose to play at LSU and for Coach Mulkey because I wanted to be a part of a winning program and I know with Coach Mulkey I can do that,” Hines said. “A big part of why I wanted to play for Coach Mulkey is because she cares more about me as a person and my education than just a basketball player.”
Kim Mulkey on Kate Koval…
“Having recruited Kate out of High School, we are very aligned in our vision for her personal development and the impact she can have on our program,” Coach Kim Mulkey said. “Tiger fans will love the skill, physicality and passion that Kate will bring with her to Baton Rouge!”
Grace Knox on choosing LSU…
“I would say I chose LSU because, for one I know Coach Mulkey can develop me for the next level as I saw her do at Baylor and recently at LSU,” Knox said. “I love the culture on and off the court which set it apart from the other schools mostly. Of course, there’s great branding opportunities at LSU as well. Lastly, I feel like on the visit I felt the genuineness and passion in the coaching staff. There didn’t seem to be an awkward moment and could see myself thriving at LSU next year.”
