Brune: I understand that the interceptions are infuriating, and it’s a fifth-year quarterback. Ultimately, they shouldn’t happen. They can’t happen. But they need Nussmeier to throw the ball down the field, if this offense is going to reach the point where we need them to reach in order for them to get to the playoffs. They need Nussmeier to throw some of these balls that may be kind of risky at times, and they’re going to make you have to keep the defense on its toes in a way. I think it will be interesting to see what happens moving forward. Like again, throw to Chris Hilton, like that’s a game-changing throw, and that we did not see that for the first five weeks of the season. So that’s really good. I was, I think it’s promising, and I leave this game at least hopeful that they can now. push the ball vertically, which is what we’ve been waiting for. So, interceptions, the interceptions suck. He was 20, 33, 254, two touchdowns, two picks. I don’t know; it’s like a B-minus game from Nuss, but it’s better than what he had been doing.
Bryce: I don’t think Nussmeyer would have made the throw. You would have seen him look at it, maybe double clutch. And what we’ve all talked about— check down—like that’s probably what he would have done. The willingness to push the ball down the field. Shea, you said it right there. That throw to Chris Hilton, that’s probably the best throw, maybe outside of the no catch, should have been a catch to Barry and Brown in the Clemson game for the touchdown. Like that throw to Chris Hilton was, I think we were all like, woah. That’s Nussmeier, in terms of letting it rip and letting it loose.
