Bryce: I want to zero in on Ty Simpson and just the growth that he has shown. Obviously, everyone goes back to that Florida State game where a lot of national media pundits were wondering, what did Alabama see in Simpson? And now we sit here 10 weeks later saying, this guy could find himself in New York. What are some of the biggest growth factors you’ve seen just from him in fall camp to now? And why is he excelling right now at such a high rate?

Tim: He’s a pretty amazing story. I think for me that what stands out to the most is his leadership. There was talk that he’s kind of quiet, kind of, you know, subdued, a little bit insecure at different stages, but we have not seen that this year. We’ve seen him continue to step up, own it, and push himself. He sounds very much like, like almost like a coach when he’s talking. He’s going straight to what he can do better. He doesn’t seem to relish it. I mean, there’s a lot of attention. You’re talking about a guy that really had nobody talking about him until this year, and then you’ve got everybody national having an opinion on him. So, he’s had to handle that, and I think he’s the kind of kid that has been able to. His dad’s a college coach, which certainly helps. He was with Nick Saban for, you know, numbers of years, and he’s got Nick Sheridan in his ear. He’s got Kalen DeBoer and Ryan Grubb. So it’s kind of a three-headed monster there working with the quarterback, and I think that’s had an effect.
But I think his maturity is the biggest thing, and he’s shown a lot of clutch ability in the fourth quarter: ability to overcome adversity. South Carolina game was not his best game. He struggled for three quarters, but when they had to have him, he was there. Whether it be a tough run or a big completion, he was able to step up there.
