On the Pod: The Truth about Garrett Nussmeier

Bryce: I don’t know what the big secret is about what body part it being that is hurt. I don’t understand why you would want to keep that a secret, because, as you mentioned, Bruni Garen Nussmeier has not been just, he hasn’t been average. He hasn’t been okay. He has been a bad quarterback, objectively, through the first five games of the season.

You have someone, you have the situation where it is blatantly obvious that something is very minimally physically wrong, but we’re acting like it’s not real, and I don’t know what the point of that is.

Matthew: I don’t think we learned anything new. Garrett Nussmeier and Brian Kelly did not clear up anything. And I think that there’s still real concern here. He’s obviously not taking reps. which is again he told us time after time but this is not something that needs rest.

This is not something that gets better with time when you just don’t use it. With that in mind he could have rested for Southeastern. You could have told us just off the bat, hey, like I know he wants to compete, but we’re not gonna play him Southeastern. We’ll see how it feels going into Ole Miss. And if he is not 100, he is not ready to go. We’re not going to put him out there against Ole Miss. Instead, you play him against, and then you would have had a month between the Florida game and the South Carolina game to get him. We talked about that after that Florida game and you would have had a month. Now imagine where we’d be sitting right now
