Wednesday Injury Report: Latest updates on LSU's key contributors

LSU released an update on two important players Wednesday night, as Whit Weeks was listed as questionable and wide receiver Aaron Anderson was listed as probable. Wideout Nic Anderson was listed as out after suffering an injury last week against Alabama.
On Wednesday’s SEC teleconference, interim head coach Frank Wilson was asked about Weeks’ status and his availability this week at practice.
“Whit was at practice moving around, he’ll move around again today. We’ll see how he holds up today. It’s our ‘Grit Wednesday’, so it’s a little more taxing than earlier in the week. Today’s a pivotal day for him and his practice to see how his body holds up. We’re anxious to see and certainly could use his contributions,” Wilson said.
“Practicing with the team, spot practicing, no boot, in attire, moving about, transitioning but with body weight against him. He’ll get that today and see how he sustains and moves with actual weight against him.”
The LSU defense turned in a nice performance against Alabama last weekend, but with a mobile quarterback like Taylen Green looming, getting Weeks back would be a big addition to this Tigers’ offense. LSU’s defense has been a step slower in guarding dual-threat quarterbacks this season, especially without Weeks in the lineup. Slowing down Taylen Green will be no easy task, as the Razorbacks quarterback has been one of the more explosive playmakers in the country this season.

Wideout Aaron Anderson suffered an elbow injury in last week’s loss to the Crimson Tide and has been practicing in a limited capacity this week. Still, Frank Wilson told the media that he was hopeful Anderson would be ready to go against Arkansas on Saturday. The veteran will be looking to play a key role for an LSU offense that desperately needs to show some life in front of the home crowd.
“He moved around well. I think he’ll be ready to go for Saturday,” Wilson told reporters.
Anderson’s injury is better than initially thought, as the Tigers avoided danger with their outside receiver. Anderson had just made a 16-yard reception and cut upfield before being tackled, and his knee buckled on the play. Anderson had two catches for the game for 32 yards, and on Monday afternoon, LSU interim head coach Frank Wilson gave the latest on Anderson’s status after further examination.
“It was positive [news]. We were really worried on the sideline that it could be something long term. It is not.” Wilson said. “It does not require a procedure, so we’re day by day in a rehabilitation manner with him. I don’t know if he’ll be ready. He came in this morning and we’ll continue to monitor him and by Wednesday we should have a real idea if he’ll be up for this game or the next and beyond.”
