LSU comes off of a busy bye week filled with a head coach firing, an offensive coordinator change, and plenty of talk about regarding the program. Still, there’s a football game ahead and interim head coach Frank Wilson looks to prepare the Tigers for a road game at Alabama on Saturday night, but the status of a couple key starters remains in question entering the week ahead.

Here’s a full rundown of the injury and availability report and everything to know for both LSU and Alabama in the first official availability report of the week.

Probable: OL Carius Curne

Curne left the game against Texas A&M and since then has been working to get back and on Monday Wilson indicated that he’s progressing towards playing, but listed him as questionable, so seeing him probable is good news for the Tigers.

Questionable: LB Whit Weeks

Weeks has missed the past two games and the LSU defense has not been the same without him. He continues to wear a boot, but the hope is that he’s on the right side of the injury and he can play vs. the Tide. On Wednesday morning, Wilson said Whit was doubtful, so questionable is a bit more positive, but he hasn’t practiced yet this week.

Doubtful: LB Zach Weeks

I don’t remember any indication that Weeks was injured, so maybe this was a practice injury. LSU did have its Tiger Bowl last week with players who havent played much this season so maybe it was during that.

OUT: DE Gabriel Reliford & OL Tyree Adams

The impact of losing these two grows by the game. Adams was one of the only reliable offensive linemen and Reliford was one of the only dynamic pass rusher on the team. Without them, there are clear holes on this team.

Alabama updates vs. LSU

Alabama is dealing with injury question marks of its own, with five defensive players listed OUT. Defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick Jr was suspended by Kalen DeBoer on Monday following his arrest over the bye weekend

Kirkpatrick was arrested Saturday on three counts of reckless endangerment and one count of attempting to elude and speeding. He was released from Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $1,500 bond.

“Unfortunately, with the information that I have at this time, I talked to Dre, and we need to indefinitely suspend him,” DeBoer said. “He understands there are consequences that come with his actions.”

Alabama will likely have star wide receiver Ryan Williams available, though, giving quarterback Ty Simpson a key weapon on the perimeter against a talented LSU secondary.
