BREAKING: Miami Hurricanes Land Michigan Guard Tre Donaldson from Transfer Portal

The Miami Hurricanes have landed their second transfer portal signee in as many days, with Michigan guard Tre Donaldson announcing his commitment to the Canes and head coach Jai Lucas.
Donaldson started all 37 of Michigan’s games this season, averaging 11.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 4.1 assists in 31.1 minutes per game while shooting 43.3% from the field and 37.5% from beyond the arc. His points, rebounds, and assists were all career highs this season.
Tre Donaldson played high school basketball at Florida State University High School (FL), where he was a four-star prospect. He was ranked as the No. 127 overall player and the No. 22 point guard in the 2022 recruiting cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

This commitment comes just a day after Miami signed former Indiana forward Malik Reneau, who was the first pledge of the Lucas era in Coral Gables. Donaldson is ranked as the No. 163 overall prospect in the transfer portal, according to On3’s rankings, and the No. 38 point guard.
Donaldson spent two seasons at Auburn before transferring to Michigan. He played a relatively small role during his freshman campaign but made 10 starts and averaged 19.6 minutes per game in his sophomore season.
