Full circle: Milan Parris signs with Miami Hurricanes 4 years after first visit from Kevin Beard
Four years ago, Miami receivers coach Kevin Beard became the first coach to stop by receiver Milan Parris’ high school while he was still the receivers coach at Toledo. Wednesday, Parris’ recruitment came full circle when he signed with Miami.
The No. 122 overall prospect and No. 16 receiver in the Rivals Industry Ranking signed with the Hurricanes Wednesday at his high school as one of four receivers in Miami’s 2026 class, although his path to Miami wasn’t always clear and obvious. Parris was originally Iowa State’s highest-rated commit and had been locked in with the Cyclones since late January, but the Akron (Ohio) Walsh Jesuit prospect’s stock quickly rose this fall. Miami, Oklahoma and Oregon became involved in heated a three-team race for Parris and each hosted him for visits in October.
Miami became the favorite for the 6-foot-4.5, 205-pound wideout shortly after his Oct. 25 visit to The U for the Hurricanes’ game against Stanford. He immediately shut down after committing.
“I definitely feel good,” he told CaneSport after committing. “At first you obviously have those thoughts like, ‘Did I make the right decision? Did I not?’ But in the end I knew I did when I made the right decision and I called coach (Mario) Cristobal.”
His strong connections with Beard, Cristobal and receivers recruiting assistant Kwincy Hall all factored into his decision. The trio convinced him he could see himself in Coral Gables and enthused him about the program.
“I would say it’s the relationships,” Parris said about what ultimately led to his decision to commit to Miami. “That’s the No. 1 thing you’ve got to look at especially in today’s world, just not getting caught up in the money aspect of things.”

Parris’ commitment is a microcosm of a larger effort from Miami’s staff to recruit larger, more physical body types at receiver – particularly over the last two recruiting cycles. He’s one of three receivers in Miami’s 2026 class listed at at least 6-foot-3 and 180 pounds and the fourth receiver in the last two classes taller than 6-foot-3.
Coach’s Take: 4-star WR Milan Parris brings hands, eyes, hustle to Miami
Parris always had impressive ball skills, but after hitting the weight room hard this offseason he emerged as more of a physical wideout with a frame that should translate well to the next level. He can separate from top cornerbacks but has also become far more dangerous athlete with his improved run-after-catch ability.
He’ll need to continue to improve his understanding of defenses to take the next step, his coach said, but the pieces are there to have star-level potential.
CaneSport’s Take
Parris is one of our favorite signees this cycle and someone we think shouldn’t be overlooked even though the Hurricanes are signing 12 Rivals300 prospects. His combination of size and speed mixed with his open-field abilities makes him a potentially dangerous high-end wideout and could give him the chance to contribute early in his college career.
