WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

The game is around the corner, and this morning we’ve got plenty more news for you looking ahead to this rivalry battle. First we take a look at who has the advantage at each position in our The Edge series, and yes, we think the Canes have a talent edge on both sides of the ball. We also have your perspective from the FSU sideline, with Seminoles coaches and players talking about the Canes and what they see in the UM challenge. Plus OJ Frederique shares his thoughts heading into this game vs. the nation’s No. 1 offense.

There’s also our new Countdown To Kickoff show for you, and you can check out the initial injury report for the game as well.

In recruiting? More news for you.

Tampa (Fla.) Jesuit top-25 2027 linebacker Kaden Henderson included Miami and Florida State in his top 12 earlier this fall for a reason. This weekend, he’ll see the two go head-to-head in Tallahassee. Get his take.

Last Friday, Jacksonville (Fla.) The Bolles School 2028 running back Xander Edwards broke Derrick Henry’s Florida high school football record for most touchdowns in a single game when he scored eight times in the Bulldogs’ win over Baldwin. Wednesday, the 6-foot-2, 220-pound high school sophomore landed an offer from Miami. We talk with him.

UM also remains high up for John Carroll (Fla.) interior offensive lineman Sean Tatum, and we have the latest there.

Plus Miami continues to battle for Raleigh (N.C.) Cardinal Gibbons 2027 cornerback Xavier Hasan. He wasn’t able to make his originally-scheduled trip to Miami Week One for the Hurricanes’ season opener against Notre Dame, but that hasn’t kept the Canes from hanging around his picture.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

Business trip… Posted by Hooracane

Winning this game will go a loong way in showing that this team is very different from the “flash in the pan” teams we have seen in the past. Despite FSU being overrated IMO, this will be our toughest test to date given it is on the road and FSU will be desperate for a win. If FSU can win then they will be right back in the race for the ACC and playoffs. If they lose, their conference title and playoff hopes will be all but dashed at 3-2 with 2 ACC losses and no ranking. If we come in and play the same tough defense with a dominant running attack, we should win this game by 13 or more.

“They’re talented. Their defensive coordinator (Corey Hetherman) is very impressive. You can tell they know what they’re doing. Their guys up front, they’ve got some real guys up front. That’s really what stands out when you watch film. They’re going to make you earn it. That’s probably the bottom line.”
