WHAT’S UP TODAY
First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?
There was the commitment over the weekend from 4-star DL Kendall Jackson, and we had an inside look at the decision, an analysis of his play and also a look from his coach at what he adds for the Miami Hurricanes.
Plus C.J. Clark was a bigtime DT transfer that visited Miami over the weekend, so check out the news coming out of that and where he says things stand now.
There’s also the news that star LB Francisco Mauigoa decided to return to Miami next season, and we have your in-depth update with him on what went into that.
CaneSport publisher Gary Ferman also answers all your questions with recruiting, the portal and the football team having a lot of moving parts right now.
There also was tough basketball loss at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn yesterday against Colorado, and we had your recap and reaction coming off that.
We also have a look at the hard work and strength gains that went into Miami Hurricanes DL Rueben Bain’s big freshman season that saw him earn ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year honors.
In recruiting?
This past weekend, Tallahassee played host to the Florida High School Athletic Association’s football state championship games, which saw a handful of 2024 Miami Hurricane commits lift state titles. We break that all down for you.

We had the news that Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage CB Xavier Lucas, a Wisconsin commit, is planning to take an official visit to Miami this weekend, so the Canes will have a final chance to sway him. Find out what he’s saying.
Miami offensive line commit Kavion Broussard has stopped shy of shutting down his recruitment, and while Hurricanes head coach Mario Cristobal and offensive line coach Alex Mirabal paid Broussard an in-home visit Sunday morning, the Canes are still facing competition from a pair of SEC foes. He breaks that down.
Another interesting story we have for you? Cheshire (Conn.) Cheshire Academy three-star center Nino Francavilla, a Miami commit, can’t literally bleed orange and green, but if he could, he probably would. Francavilla has been one of Miami’s most enthusiastic commits in the 2024 class. And he tells CaneSport his family is having a Hurricane-themed Christmas. Don’t miss that.
We also have a coach’s take on PK commitment Abram Murray with kicking coach Jamie Kohl of Kohl’s Professional Camps. He believes Miami is getting one of the country’s best in three-star kicker pledge Abram Murray.
Plus Miami coach Mario Cristobal and his Hurricanes staff became the latest program to offer rising 2026 Tampa (Fla.) Wharton offensive lineman Canon Pickett, who is a Miami legacy. His take?
And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.
