WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

Be sure to check out what Mario Cristobal was talking about yesterday as he juggles recruiting, the transfer portal and an upcoming bowl game. We also have the take from the other side of the ball in the Pinstripe Bowl, with Rutgers coach Greg Schiano weighing in.

There’s also our portal breakdown of the top 10 quarterbacks as it pertains to Miami, so be sure to read that.

Also tonight we’ll have full coverage of the basketball team’s game against LIU, so stay tuned for that.

In recruiting there’s more news.

Moultrie (Ga.) Colquitt County four-star receiver commit Ny Carr hosted Mario Cristobal and assistants, and we have your update coming out of that.

Also with an in-home visit: Gray (Ga.) Warner Robins Miami quarterback commit Judd Anderson. He is well aware the Hurricanes could potentially add a second quarterback to their 2024 class and discusses that and more.

Another commitment – Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna four-star Miami receiver Joshisa Trader – plans to cram in as many visits as he can in the final two weeks before signing day Dec. 20. So where do things stand there? We have that.

We also catch up with Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna four-star safety Zaquan Patterson, the No. 64 overall prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking and a Miami commit. He got an in-home from coaches and shares the latest.

And, as one of the longest-tenured commits in the Miami Hurricanes 2024 class, Miami Central linebacker Vincent Shavers updates the latest as he prepares for signing day coming up fast.

There’s also the weekly Canes in the NFL feature with stats and highlights as well as our Weekly Tracking the Commits item.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

54% of players who entered Portal for this fall found a new Team 41% now out of Football … Posted by ShelbyFan

A lot of players are not as valuable as they think they were. Remember of the 54% how many even got a few hundred bucks? The Big money stories are like the country as a whole the Top players get paid and the rest just basically transferred as the old days. Lot of players are thinking Transfer portal is winning the lottery but most just get the Sorry not a Winner.

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

“It was a great time in my career as a young coach (at Miami). I was maybe 31 years old, Butch Davis gave me a great opportunity and I learned so much from him. He gave me the opportunity not only to coordinate the defense but also helped me learn what being a head coach was about – some by observation and some he forced me into it and included me in it. It was two years, but it was really, really helpful for me in my development and I have a lot of close friends still there.”
