WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

There was the huge news yesterday, of course, that Miami beat out Georgia to land the nation’s No. 1 prospect, Jackson Cantwell. We had you fully covered with that, including the live announcement, his take on why he picked Miami, other UM recruit reaction, our recruiting podcast breaking down what it means, analysis of the pickup and more. So don’t miss all that.

Today we continue our Miami Hurricanes top 5 breakout players prediction series, and we break down why we have DE Armondo Blount at No. 2.

We also continue our annual series breaking down the top 50 players on the current roster. As we go along on this list you’ll get an idea of the overall depth of talent on Mario Cristobal’s team this year as he seeks to build on a season that was oh-so-close to a playoff berth. We are at No. 48 today.

In recruiting?

There’s our closer look at where OL recruiting goes from here after landing Cantwell … and no, Miami’s not done at the position.

We catch up with Sarasota (Fla.) Cardinal Mooney offensive lineman Da’Ron Parks, who got a visit from Alex Mirabal and has an OV perhaps in the cards. Find out about that.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

“Relationships won out in the end. Coach Mirabal, coach Cristobal spent so much time recruiting me over the past year, time checking in with me, text every day. We talked about offensive line development, my potential there at The U, their history with Penei Sewell, Francis Mauigoa and some of those guys. It’s a place I can develop and be something great. Even if football doesn’t go my way I like Coral Gables, the University.
