WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

Check out our latest Message Board Mania, with Miami message board posters weighing in on several aspects of No. 1 Jackson Cantwell’s decision to be a Cane and the repurcussions being seen from the outside.

Don’t miss what Mario Cristobal was talking about yesterday, including an update on QB Carson Beck’s progress.

There’s the conclusion our Miami Hurricanes top 5 breakout players prediction, and we break down why we have Ahmad Moten at No. 1.

We also continue our annual series breaking down the top 50 players on the current roster. As we go along on this list you’ll get an idea of the overall depth of talent on Mario Cristobal’s team this year as he seeks to build on a season that was oh-so-close to a playoff berth. We are at No. 47 today.

In recruiting?

We’ve got your coach’s take on bigtime recent commitment Jackson Cantwell, the nation’s top prospects. So don’t miss that. Also be sure to read our analysis of where Miami now fits in the national recruiting rankings after the Cantwell commitment.

Another 5-star Miami’s chasing? That’s WR Tristen Keys – Miami receivers coach Kevin Beard stopped in Hattiesburg (Miss.) Tuesday afternoon to see five-star receiver and consensus top-10 prospect. We have the latest news there.

The Canes also landed an OV date from No. 1 TE/5-star Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei tight end Mark Bowman. Find out what he’s saying.

Miami offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson evaluated one of his top 2027 quarterbacks at his high school Monday, Alabaster (Ala.) Thompson’s Trent Seaborn, and we have your feedback off that.

Also check out what’s going on with tight ends recruiting for Miami, as there’s a shakeup there.

Another update: Whether it’s on the hardwood or the gridiron, Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna four-star receiver and Miami target Jasen Lopez has established himself as one of the top athletes in the 2026 class. Our Izubee Charles goes on a 100-yard walk with Lopez you can check out.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

Does the WR room dictate how this season will go? … Posted by Kimzkr

Defense will be vastly improved this season ( especially CB’s , but safeties are still a worry)

In offense, we are solid @ RB , OL , QB ( except depth ) , and TE

WR room consists of :
JoJo
Malachi
Chance
Ny Carr
Ray Ray
Josh Moore
CJ
Upshaw
Tony Johnson
BYU transfer

if secondary would of had a pulse and Guidry didn’t suck at coaching , then we would of been a playoff team

I view the WR room as the same as last years secondary room , completely unproven and an enigma

I count 10 WR’s on roster . If Beck is healthy , then we need 3-4 WR’s to step up .

hoping for a miracle

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

Jackson Cantwell Miami Hurricanes

“He’s going to be really really good, because when he comes in in December or January and he gets in there and he goes to work and he learns the playbook and he goes through spring ball, he’s going to be really good. He’s a force. He’s just a different guy. I mean, gosh, he bench presses 500 and he has a work ethic out of this world.”

Jackson Cantwell’s coach, John Perry
