WHAT’S UP TODAY
First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?
Plenty of football analysis. We take a look at Miami’s 19-strong transfer portal haul … and if the Canes did indeed dominate the portal with a look at the roster impact. Then we have our position by position breakdowns on offense and defense, looking at key gains and losses on both sides of the ball and where that leaves the program entering the 2025 season.
We also continue our annual series breaking down the top 50 players on the current roster. As we go along on this list you’ll get an idea of the overall depth of talent on Mario Cristobal’s team this year as he seeks to build on a season that was oh-so-close to a playoff berth. We have your breakdowns of No. 43, 44 and 45.
In recruiting? Be sure to check out our Live From The Crib feature as, for the first time in eight months, West Boca (Fla.) four-star Miami Hurricanes commit Javian Mallory was back in action on the gridiron. And the 2026 running back didn’t miss a beat.
There also is our Inside Canes Recruiting Podcast to check out.
More for you:
After winning a state title at his alma mater during his first year as head coach of Miami Northwestern High School last fall, longtime NFL quarterback and South Florida native Teddy Bridgewater and the Bulls are back on the field this spring, hoping to repeat as state champs. We catch up with Bridgewater, who shares his thoughts on some Miami targets and commit Jordan Campbell.
We catch up with IMG Academy four-star interior offensive lineman Breck Kolojay for what is shaping up like a Miami vs. Georgia battle (sound familiar?).
Another update is with Jonesboro (Ga.) four-star 2026 cornerback Jontavius Wyman. He shut down his recruitment after committing to Miami in April, but that doesn’t mean schools have given up on the On300 star. Get the latest there.
A new offer went out to Houston (Tx.) Cypress Falls three-star 2027 EDGE Kaden McCarty, and we get his thoughts.
Another offer also went out to Buffalo (NY) Canisius four-star running back Elijah Kimble. Find out what he’s saying.

And yet another offer was given to Benton (La.) top-100 four-star quarterback Malachi Zeigler after he was evaluated by Hurricanes offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson.
It has been just over a month since Miami (Fla.) Norland four-star cornerback Kenton Dopson committed to the Miami Hurricanes, and he is looking to do some recruiting for UM.
We talk with St. Louis (Mo.) Kirkwood On300 2026 ATH Jacob Eberhart as well. He got a visit from DC Corey Hetherman and shares where things stand.
There’s an update with Miami (Fla.) Central four-star 2026 linebacker Karon Maycock. he has remained committed to Florida State since February, but the Hurricanes are among teams pushing the hardest for the No. 292 overall prospect and No. 22 linebacker in the On300. Find out about any headway being made there.
Plus there was the wrapup of Miami’s regular season baseball series finale against Notre Dame, so you can check those results out as well.
And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY
You build teams on the offensive and defensive lines … Posted by sabrose
Get big talented O linemen and the best QBs RBs and then WRs will want to come . Get big talented defensive linemen then the best LB’s and DBs will want to come. We can thank the stellar job done by last year’s offensive line for landing Cantwell and for the Carson Beck transfer. It seems we are a bit further along offensively than defensively unless some of the young DL studs we have start to show out. Will be an interesting season next year.
MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

“I love the energy that he brings every day, and you know that he’s here. I think he has to get used to those double teams, but honestly, he’s doing a great job of just coming in and working. With all of the things he’s got going on, you can come into a program like this and fall victim — think you’ve made it because you’re a four-star committed to Miami. But he fell right in line when he got here, and I love that about him.”
