WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

We begin our yearly highly anticipated State of The U series breaking down every facet of the program as we look at what Mario Cristobal has been building and where it’s all going. CaneSport publisher Gary Ferman has your introduction to the series today with a mile high view and the areas we will be discussing and analyzing over the coming weeks. So be sure to check that out.

And we have our annual series breaking down the top 50 players on the current roster. As we go along on this list you’ll get an idea of the overall depth of talent on Mario Cristobal’s team this year as he seeks to build on a season that was oh-so-close to a playoff berth. We are at No. 21 today.

Plus don’t miss our podcast with Gary Ferman and Stephen Wagner discussing all the news from the massive visit weekend and where things stand now.

In recruiting?

Boca Raton (Fla.) West Boca four-star running back Javian Mallory’s recruitment isn’t completely over just because he committed to Miami, as he’ll now visit Alabama this weekend. Find out where things stand there.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

Thoughts on this year’s team … Posted by ridsy87

I am one of the Few that believe our receivers will be fine and thrive; long with TE and RB; still worried about defense. Hetherman is an upgrade and we definitely upgraded secondary, but not sure about middle of defense (Front 7).

“I’m definitely still committed to Miami and they’re still setting themselves apart. I wouldn’t say my recruitment is open, but I obviously did choose to go and take a look at Alabama.”
