WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

It was, of course, another official visit weekend for the Canes, and we had your full coverage off that with feedback from the recruits. And we have our intel and takeaways column off the weekend as well. So don’t miss all that.

We also continue our State of The U series. We tackle the classes of 2024 and 2025, which included big transfer numbers. How have they helped build to this year, and has it been enough? Plus we take a closer look at the pressure on Mario Cristobal in year 4, as recent Miami coaches haven’t fared particularly well when it gets to this point. Is Cristobal set to buck that trend?

And we continue our annual series breaking down the top 50 players on the current roster. As we go along on this list you’ll get an idea of the overall depth of talent on Mario Cristobal’s team this year as he seeks to build on a season that was oh-so-close to a playoff berth. You can read our inside looks at several guys on the list – No. 15, 16 and 17.

In addition to all our updates with the visitors, we also have the latest with Baton Rouge (La.) Central four-star linebacker JaMichael Garrett. He is expected on campus in the coming days, CaneSport has confirmed.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

Defensive tackle situation … Posted by Trust

Justin Scott gonna be better. To me he is the underrated guy at this point. Blay will be solid. And Moten n Artavius are far from the worst….will be solid backups. Mesidor is also adequate as a pass rushing DT. Not much depth if we have injuries… but if healthy, the top 2 are pretty good.
