WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

We continue our State of The U series this morning, continuing to break down all aspects of the program. Today we take a deep dive at running back – how will that position fare with Damien Martinez gone? We have your answer.

And we continue our annual series breaking down the top 50 players on the current roster. As we go along on this list you’ll get an idea of the overall depth of talent on Mario Cristobal’s team this year as he seeks to build on a season that was oh-so-close to a playoff berth. Today we are at No. 11, James Brockermeyer.

In recruiting? Be sure to check out our Inside Canes Recruiting podcast heading into a massive official visit weekend.

Also be sure to check out Stephen Wagner’s breakdown of expected commits, likely commits and possible commits. You don’t want to miss that.

And we had an update with Venice (Fla.) four-star 2026 EDGE Asharri Charles. He hasn’t been shy about his positive feelings toward Miami and has visited Coral Gables multiple times over the last nine months. Heading into what will be his longest and most in-depth Miami visit yet for his official visit this weekend, he knows he could “definitely” see himself being a Hurricane. Get his thoughts.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

Perspective … Posted by Hooracane

Good to be optimistic BUT every single fanbase and Head coach in D1 is “optimistic” this time of year. Keep it in perspective. Past results are the best indicator of future performance. Mario is not a rookie HC and this is his 4th year here. There is plenty to support some healthy skepticism. With that said, every year is a new chance to buck the past. We shall see. Anything else is conjecture.

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

“It’s basically just like going back to your cousin’s house or something like that. Just regular. Just a great environment to be around and stuff like that.”
