WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

We continue our football analysis, and today we take a look at fans’ perspectives on Mario Cristobal’ roster rebuild and if this team is now built for the playoffs. We add our own take, so don’t miss that.

And we have our annual series breaking down the top 50 players on the current roster. As we go along on this list you’ll get an idea of the overall depth of talent on Mario Cristobal’s team this year as he seeks to build on a season that was oh-so-close to a playoff berth. We are at No. 27 today.

In recruiting?

Be sure to check out our official visit weekend preview breaking down who will be on campus and where things stand with them.

More updates for you:

Toledo (Ohio) three-star 2026 tight end Preston Fryzel currently has official visits lined up with Duke, Pittsburgh and Iowa the next three weekends. But after wrapping up his two-day unofficial midweek trip to Miami, he’s eyeing returning for an official visit. Find out what he’s saying off his UM visit.

And two schools are leading the way for Hoover (Ala.) three-star 2026 priority defensive lineman Tyson Bacon, and one is Miami with his OV to UM coming up this weekend. So don’t miss what he’s talking about.

Plus we have an update on the basketball team, with new coach Jai Lucas sharing his thoughts as he’s built a roster essentially from scratch using transfers, international players and freshmen.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

Miami vs. Notre Dame game take … Posted by CFSteve

How we play will mean a lot for sure. If we lay an egg it’s going to be a total buzz kill and effect recruiting, attendance and confidence in Mario.

However, I anticipate a hotly contested game with the U coming out on top. The pre-season hate and disrespect is going to fire everyone up to play their best, especially Beck. ND better brace themselves for a very hostile environment.

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

“The biggest thing was coming down and just a total reset of everything – having to hire people, get a whole new team, starting a program in my vision. Coach L (Jim Larranaga) did a great job here the last 14 years. So it’s not like a rebuild, it’s a reset in my own vision.”
