MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

Run game is key … Posted by cortez55403

IF we can establish the run against the Irish, our chance of winning goes way, way up. Long drives powered by the running game can and will exhaust a defense, especially in the August heat of Miami.

I remember Andrew Luck at Stanford under Harbaugh. Luck fondly recalled his game against Washington St where Stanford ran the ball 44 times for 446 yards. Harbaugh had the best passer in the nation. But his OLine was dominant and he knew it. Luck loved it.

Now, of course, ND will try exactly the same strategy vs the Canes. Q1 should be a mano a mano slugfest with both teams trying to assert themselves on the ground. Can’t wait.
