WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

Be sure to check out Gary Ferman’s column looking at how Texas is coming into Miami territory and working to win some big recruiting battles … and the Hurricanes’ plan.

There’s also plenty of football analysis with the start of fall drills rapidly approaching at the end of the month. We look at the three pivotal games that will define Miami’s season, break down the top three defenses the Canes will face and which will test Carson Beck the most … and also rank the entire schedule from easiest to hardest with the rationale for each. Yes, it’s a more difficult schedule this year than what Miami faced in 2024.

We also are continue our July Player Performance Index series looking at the 30 most impactful players for the coming season. In this series we focus in on how productive we think each Miami player will be this coming season. Today you can check out our in-depth looks at No. 13 Mohamed Toure, No. 12 Xavier Lucas and No. 11 Dylan Joyce. It goes without saying that all three can be major difference-makers this season.

In recruiting? Start with watching our podcast analyzing where things stand with the 21st commit now on board. Stephen Wagner and Gary Ferman break it all down.

We look at what commits/targets could be close to landing their fourth star, and Stephen Wagner also shares who he sees as Miami’s top flip candidates and where things stand with them.

In individual updates we catch up with a 2027 CB the Canes are chasing, Amare Nugent. Find out what he’s saying.

The Canes also have piqued the interest of Jackson (Miss.) Brandon four-star 2027 running back Tyson Robinson, and he shares the latest.

Another top 2027 target we catch up with is IMG Academy top-30 receiver Osani Gayles, so find out what he’s saying.

There’s also an update with Atlanta (Ga.) Pace Academy top-80 2027 safety Adryan Cole – the Hurricanes are among the schools setting the pace for the 6-foot-2, 185-pound defensive back.

Plus Ackerman (Miss.) Choctaw County top-50 2027 defensive lineman Ben’Jarvius Shumaker has landed a UM offer and updates where things stand now.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

Amare Nugent Miami Hurricanes
(X: @marenuge7_)

“(Will Harris) talks to me almost every other day. There’s not really (any specific schools exceptionally standing out). I might finally decide next spring going into my senior year, that’s when I’ll be popping with my top five or top 10 schools.”
