WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

We have plenty of football analysis with fall drills coming up fast July 31. Which freshmen will contribute, or perhaps emerge as starters at some point? What position groups are strongest and weakest, and why? Where do we see the five biggest fall camp position battles occurring? We answer all those questions for you heading into the start of practices.

We also are continue our July Player Performance Index series looking at the 30 most impactful players for the coming season. In this series we focus in on how productive we think each Miami player will be this coming season. Today you can check out our in-depth looks at Nos. 4-6.

In recruiting? Plenty more updates for you.

A new offer has gone out to wide receiver/cornerback Saphir Miller, an unranked prospect currently committed to Brown. It’s his first major offer, and we have his reaction.

Miami also offered a Tennessee commitment – Marietta (Ga.) Kell three-star 2026 safety Jowell Combay. Where do things stand there now? Michigan DT commit Alister Vallejo also picked up a Cane offer and we have his thoughts. Staying with that theme, Miami also offered Cincinnate safety commit Markell Taylor, and we catch up with him as well.

Port Saint Lucie (Fla.) John Carroll four-star 2027 interior offensive lineman Sean Tatum has been no stranger to Miami or the Hurricanes’ staff over the last month and we talk with him. Other updates are with Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas four-star 2027 safety Zayden Gamble and Boca Raton (Fla.) West Boca consensus top-200 2027 defensive tackle Jamar Thompson.

Plus we have an update on the status of 4-star RB commit Javian Mallory.

There’s also a hoops recruiting update on 2027 four-star point guard Oneal Delancy. He’s earned several Power Four offers including Miami.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

Pringle and Lyle … Posted by ridsy87

pringle is different than all the backs; he has speed and wiggle. Lyle is more size one cut and speed when he gets going. Pringle has the burst but small (tough though). He would be good in the screen game.

Jowell Combay (Photo via @JowellCombay on X)

“It’s Miami. Miami’s a good school, cool school. Everybody hears Miami and thinks, ‘Oh yeah, that’s good.’ Even just my friends, because not everybody gets Miami, gets the opportunity to go to Miami. Miami doesn’t want everybody. So it was definitely a good thing for them to offer me.”
